Polyester fiber is very popular in the market because of its various advantages. However its tight molecular structure, high crystallinity and orientation, and its shortage of polar group cause high pollution, high expense and much difficulty during dyeing.
It’s obliged to raise its dyeablity by modifying the fiber. The most widely used way is to introduce, during the polymerizing process, some third monomers of anionic groups to PET molecular chains, such as sodium dimethyl isophthalate-5-sulfonate (SIPM). This kind of modified fiber can be dyed with cationic dyes with high temperature of 110-130 centigrade degrees and high pressure (CDP). During the polymerizing process, some quantity of third monomer SIPM and fourth monomer polyethylene glycol (PEG) is introduced to the PET molecular chains, a kind of better modified cationic dyeable polyester fiber (ECDP) can be obtained which can be dyed with normal pressure and temperature of 100 centigrade degrees. The flexible segment of polyethylene glycol can loosen the fiber’s molecular structure, so that the ECDP can have high dyeablity and high dye uptake.
Jinxia’s cationic dyeable polyester yarn is achieved by introducing the new fourth monomer into the PET molecular chains, and can be dyed with cationic dyes of dark colors with normal pressure and temperature of 95-100 centigrade degrees and can have a dyeing saturation value of above 3.5.
